Non-Principal Property Practitioner
West Coast
Growing up as a third generation in construction, my passion was in reducing financial risk, as daily I saw the sacrifices made by buyers and sellers to own property.
Ultimately it's about caring, compassion to inform and truly understanding property needs of people.
In the mid 80's I started as a valuer-in-training at the Valuation Department City of Cape Town whilst studying ND Property Valuations. Syfrets Trust headhunter me after two years. I started as a valuer assessing mortgage book risk and valued every type of fixed asset you can imagine, eg houses, farms, plantations, shopping centres, office blocks, industrial estate, flats, retirement housing, hotels, even replacement cost on historic buildings eg. St George's Cathedral and UCT building.
My interest grew and I wanted to work with the people that made all these infrastructure happen so I started Commercial Broking for JHI and Marriott Group.
I dealt with the people who utilize these building and ultimately give it true value. I negotiated leases for all the Insurance companies that had huge property portfolios in the 90's across the property spectrum country wide.
Keeping some of my commercial clients, as a property professional I started my own real estate company in the late '90s selling lower- to mid market residential houses and arranging bonds for my buyers, finding pleasure in helping first time buyers.
Moving to the West Coast I would like to offer market knowledge, efficiency and risk avoidance in the transaction proses and the understanding that the price paid is a fair exchange for the value received.
