Eberhard grew up in Paarl, spent his childhood years in the Boland and matriculated as head boy of Stellenbosch High School in 1997. After finishing his B. Comm (Law) degree in 2001 and his LLB degree in 2003, at the University of Stellenbosch, he attended the School for Legal Practice at the University of Cape Town. He also trained at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP Solicitors in the UK.
He was admitted as an attorney and conveyancer in 2005, and in 2006 obtained his qualification as a Notary Public. He obtained the qualification as a Master Practitioner of Real Estate and established the award winning Harcourts Winelands franchise in Stellenbosch. The agency has since expanded to Paarl and Franschhoek and also includes an agricultural power duo who attends to the agricultural property sector in the entire Winelands area. The Franchise also has a rental property sector to cater for the needs of their clients in all respects.
In 2016 he took the exciting step of starting the niche law firm of Van Zyl Kruger Inc. with his previous co-director at VGV, Hennie van Zyl. The firm specializes in all forms of property and commercial law and focuses on the unique needs of their cherry picked clients.
Eberhard has a vast experience in property transfers, structured financing and all related conveyancing matters. He has a wide range of expertise with regard to different kinds of property developments, therefore providing expert advice to his developer clients and even attending to some of his own developments. He also runs a very successful commercial and estate planning practice.
Eberhard is a member of the Tygerberg Attorneys Association, Chairman of the 24 Riviere Genootskap (NPO) and provides pro bono services at the Cape Town Deeds Office.
His interests include golf, cricket, traveling, socializing with friends & family and collecting lapel badges.
