My name is Vuyolwethu Tengisile, and I’m proud of the journey that’s brought me to where I am today. As the third of four sisters, I was raised by both of my loving parents, who instilled in me strong values of hard work, perseverance, and compassion. Growing up, I completed my Grade 12 at Mati Higher Primary School, where I focused on Biology, Maths, and Physics—subjects that sharpened my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Before pursuing higher education, I dedicated 6–7 years building my career at Edcon. I started as a Cashier and worked my way up through roles such as Kodak Specialist, Cash Office Supervisor, and eventually Store Manager. That experience taught me discipline, leadership, and how to manage people and processes under pressure—all while saving every penny to fund my university dreams.
I went on to earn my Diploma in Financial Information Systems from Walter Sisulu University, graduating with flying colours. This opened doors to valuable internships: one year at Amathole Municipality in the Finance Department, followed by a 14-month placement at the Department of Health, where I worked extensively in Salaries and Supply Chain. These roles deepened my understanding of financial systems, stakeholder engagement, and process efficiency.
Later, I worked as a Data Capturer at the Central Records Management Centre for two years until the company closed. Though the role ended, the experience strengthened my attention to detail, data accuracy, and organizational skills.
Throughout my career, I’ve developed a strong foundation in supply chain, billing analysis, customer relations, and relationship management—the skill I value most. I’ve learned how to navigate challenging conversations, deliver seamless customer experiences, and lead process improvements that remove pain points and drive efficiency. My bright personality, mature attitude, excellent communication, and sharp numerical skills have always allowed me to connect deeply with people—whether clients, colleagues, or stakeholders.
I’ve always thrived in environments that challenge me to use my strategic thinking and management abilities, especially in roles centered around customer care and account management. Along the way, I also gained hands-on leadership experience as a CEO of a catering company, where I managed daily operations and built lasting client relationships.
Now, with three months of experience in the property industry, I see this as the perfect next step for me. My background in retail, leadership, finance, and customer service blends beautifully with real estate—it’s a space where relationships matter most, and I’m passionate about guiding people through one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
Outside of work, I love hiking, running, dancing, singing, and exploring new places through travel. I also enjoy cooking, baking, shopping, and creating content—activities that keep me inspired and grounded.
Real estate feels like the right fit for me because it allows me to combine my professional strengths with my natural love for people, service, and strategic thinking. This isn’t just a career move—it’s a calling I’m excited to grow into.
