Once a rustic Fisherman's Village, also known as The Cape Whale Coast, Hermanus now claims the reputation of being the fastest growing town in the Overberg region. LOCATION:
Hermanus is located a little over an hour's drive from Cape Town and the airport. The surrounding areas of Hermanus include Pringle Bay and Rooi-Els to the west and Franskraal in the east. Inland are the countryside villages of Stanford, Napier and Bot River exuding rural charm and a touch of Victorian flair. Kleinmond, Betties Bay and Pringle Bay lie en-route to Cape Town and boast exquisite aquamarine lagoons and sandy white beaches. Referred to as the Cape Floral Kingdom with one of the highest plant diversity levels in the world, this area wraps you in natures beauty.  Travelling to and from Hermanus from the Cape Winelands takes you meandering along the breath-taking Clarens Drive along the coastline.

The most notable leisure activity is whale watching, delighting you with the best land-based viewing site in the world.
