The picturesque "slow town" seaside village of Sedgefield is located on the Garden Route.  Entirely surrounded by lakes, lagoon and mountains it lies in the heart of South Africa's Lake District, with the added natural beauty of fynbos and indigenous trees. Home to the Knysna Loerie, African Black Oyster Catcher, African Fish Eagle and 250 other listed species of birdlife are the Milkwood and Stinkwood trees, found along the many hiking trails.  

Sedgefield is conveniently located in the heart of the Garden Route, on the N2 between Knysna and George. George airport is approximately 40 minutes away and the Klein Karoo is about a 50-minute drive. Cape Town is 5-hour drive while Port Elizabeth is only 3 hours.

There is only 1 primary school in Sedgefield, with High school options in Knysna & George offering a daily bus service.

Sedgefield offers a variety of medical doctors, Dentists, Vet's, physio's, etc.  Within a 45 km radius are 4 Hospital and numerous clinics.

The popular Swartvlei beach is a family favourite camp site with easy boat access into the water. Stroll along the sandy shores to Gerickes Point, famous for its beautiful rock formations and clear pools.  It is also a popular spot for spear fishing, snorkelling and moonlit guided tours. 

Groenvlei lies to the east of Sedgefield, a freshwater lake famous for bass fishing. Take a drive-up Cloud Nine to experience the awe-inspiring view of Sedgefield in its full splendour or for the more adventurous, take a flight up to the paragliding jump off point to enjoy 360-degree views. This viewpoint is also fabulous for sundowners while enjoying beautiful sunsets behind the Outeniqua mountains.

Myoli Beach and Cola Beach present the most luxurious upmarket homes overlooking the Indian Ocean, here you will find affordable, sea-facing, beachfront properties to call your own.

Simola Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and situated in the picturesque town of Knysna, overlooks the enchanted forests, lagoon, Knysna Heads and Indian Ocean.
