About Auctions
Harcourts Auctions is not the promise of a price, rather it is the promise of a process that leads to market value.
Our auction campaign has been designed to run over a period of six weeks. The primary focus is data to you as the seller. Two weeks of preparation, and four weeks of active marketing. In the last week of the campaign it concludes with an online auction hosted by Harcourts Auctions. Our aim is to get as many buyers through the property in the initial marketing phase, so that we can collect accurate feedback from current in-the-market buyers, this in turn informs helps you to make an informed choice when it comes to the non-disclosed reserve price you set for the day of the auction.
Focusing on the right buyers
Unlike traditional auctions, that advertise the auction day and try to concludes a transaction within 30 days after the auction event, we are approaching this from the other side. We first prequalify, and get the right buyers around the table, and then we take it to auction with actual qualified buyers, thus getting the maximum amount from these buyers through your home and shortening the timeline of your property being on the market.

Over the last couple of years, Harcourts has been rolling auctions out to our offices nationally and is now available in your area too. Our impressive track record shows that more than 88% of all properties marketed through our auction sales method are sold either before or on the day of the auction, with more that 93% of all properties receiving written offers during the initial auction phase.
Auction pricing
Unlike traditional auctions charging a 10% plus VAT “buyer commission” and upfront marketing fees, Harcourts’ Auction fees are included in the agent commission of 7.5% plus VAT, payable only on the successful registration of your property.
A once-off administration fee of R1,500 is payable upfront.
