The Mopane leaves contain up to 13% crude protein, so the animals love it, as do Mopane worms, which in turn are a
delicacy for humans. This bushveld with its fauna and flora does evoke ones senses to its special magic.
The Lodge is located on 702 Hectare of veld, Mopane, Majestic Baobabs, Witgat and Murula, the aptly named Kannidood
are found here. The hot summers and mild winters have conditioned these hardy trees to flourish in this climate.
The lodge located on this property consists of :
9 Thatched chalets each with its own bathroom. Tastefully decorated and furnished these cater for those with a high
standards. They are Air conditioned and with WIFI connectivity. The whole 'Lodge camp' is fenced and has security cameras.
The chalets can sleep up to 30 people. Built in a generous semi circle they face green lawns, an ancient Baobab and the
entertainments amenities.
The dining area is set in a huge hall ,large enough for an entertainment area, a billiard table, sofas, TV room and much more.
This venue can cater for a wedding, or any large gathering. Built apart is the Kitchen and pantry also under thatch.
The bushveld would be incomplete without a Lapa, with its own bar, braai area, swimming pool and trampoline.
Then there are the store rooms and laundry under corrugated iron. The supplies and linen for this lodge can be safely
stored when not in use.
The lodge camp has a sprinkler system and this winter it is an oasis in an otherwise dry area.
The farm is watered from :
6 boreholes 2 with solar pumps and the remainder connected to Eskom's grid. The boreholes deliver an average of 1500lt per hour each.
3 tanks of 5000lt capacity supply the lodge area inhabitants and the animals with water.
The farm has a hill and here there are 4 tanks located of 5000lt each used to gravity feed water to the farm when the power is off.
One borehole is selected to pump water to a cement dam used exclusively for the lodges gardens.
The farm has two Pivots that are 2 hectare each, These are set in electrified camps to keep out animals. The camp is 7 hectare,
leaving capacity for future Lucerne fields. The pivots are connected to a 280 000lt Zinc reservoir,
The farms power needs are met with a 50 KVA Transformer, and when there are outages a 75 KVA Genset is used. Solar panels provide
energy to the solar connected pumps.

Then there is the Sand river that borders the property. It also has that magical quality of the bushveld. In the rainy season it can be a raging torrent,
sweeping past the fence lines. In winter the river banks are grazed by animals. The thick sand is similar to beach sand and many a 4x4 is tested here.
The sand holds another secret, shallow pits are dug in the river bed in winter and water accumulates here that can be used for farming.
This is the Bushveld beach front, braais, sun and fun can be had here.

This property is located by taking the R525 West, past the Caltex Baobab Toll Plaza to the Rail siding and town of Mopane. Then the gravel road towards the Sand river bridge.
This is a 16 km, about 20 minute drive. From this point the road to the farm is single lane gravel with electric gates, it will be challenging in the wet season for cars
but this is 4x4 territory! The farm is about 5 km from the R525 and sand river bridge.
